Monday, May 20, 2024, 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Student Union Ballroom, Rooms 330/331
According to research on High Abilities/Giftedness, the Brazilian scenario corresponds to a high incidence of myths. This poster explores the identification of women who have above-average potential who have been invisible since childhood in the face of cultural gender issues. There may be cultural factors contributing to the lack of attention of giftedness in women. Despite the repercussions of post-modernity, with the contestation of standards and stereotypes, the barriers regarding the identification of females still need to be revealed. Non-identification leads to a waste of human capital, something that is present in our country. Given the relevance of the topic and the lack of research on High Abilities/Giftedness among women, this study aims to analyze whether women with indicators of giftedness have different reasons to those of their colleagues for choosing to specialize in Neuropsychopedagogy. This analysis will make it possible to locate women with indicators, contributing to the organization of information of this kind. This investigation used a mixed-methods approach. The interviews and questions were semi-structured and open.
