Research Practice Symbiosis: Supporting the Needs of Diverse Gifted Students in IrelandOrla Dunne & Leeanne Hinch

Monday, May 20, 2024, 1:45 – 3:15 pm, Lawrence D. McHugh Hall, Room MCHU 205

This presentation will discuss ongoing research at Centre for Talented Youth, Ireland (CTYI), and how this research informs the center’s practice. CTYI, based in Dublin City University (DCU), is one of Europe’s largest gifted education centers, providing enrichment classes for approximately six thousand gifted students across Ireland each year, from ages 6 to 17. The center is currently engaged in several research projects designed to support the needs of our diverse population of gifted learners. This presentation will focus in particular on research with disadvantaged gifted students, LGBTQ gifted students, and the early stages of a project on twice-exceptional students.
